Ao justificar o voto favorável à medida, o embaixador brasileiro na ONU, Norberto Moretti, citou que outras resoluções melhores foram propostas no colegiado, mas rejeitadas.</p>
<p class="texto">O Ministério das Relações Exteriores (MRE) divulgou, ontem, a íntegra do discurso de Moretti depois da votação. Nele, o Brasil reafirmou a defesa da solução de dois Estados para a região, e frisou que as violações dos direitos humanos internacionais devem ser encerradas imediatamente. A explicação de voto também criticou a morosidade do Conselho de Segurança em aprovar uma resolução sobre a guerra.</p>
<p class="texto">"Infelizmente, a resolução que acabamos de adotar fica aquém dessas medidas audaciosas, mas necessárias. Esperamos que, se verdadeiramente e urgentemente implementada, a decisão pelo menos mitigue a abominável situação que temos diante de nós", criticou.</p>
<h3>Decisão tardia</h3>
<p class="texto">Para o embaixador, a resolução é bem-vinda, mas tardia. Moretti destacou que o Conselho deveria ter agido logo em 7 de outubro, quando o Hamas atacou o território israelense. "Antes do texto adotado hoje (quarta-feira), resoluções mais abrangentes e oportunas foram propostas, incluindo uma apresentada pelo Brasil. Vetos sucessivos, o espectro de ameaças de veto ou a falta de um processo real de negociação as impediram", lamentou.</p>
<p class="texto">O embaixador citou, ainda, os mais de 11 mil mortos palestinos na guerra, o deslocamento forçado de 1,5 milhão de cidadãos árabes e o número "vergonhosamente desolador" de crianças mortas. Destacou que, apesar da campanha militar israelense, não há sinais de que o <a href="/mundo/2023/11/6655918-israel-nao-cumprira-pausa-humanitaria-aprovada-no-conselho-da-onu.html">Hamas</a> pretenda libertar os reféns. E que em pouco mais de um mês de conflito, mais de 100 trabalhadores humanitários foram mortos, incluindo funcionários da própria ONU.</p>
<p class="texto">"Todas essas violações do direito internacional humanitário devem cessar. Agora. Para todos os civis, palestinos e israelenses igualmente", observou o embaixador.</p>

Ao justificar o voto favorável à medida, o embaixador brasileiro na ONU, Norberto Moretti, citou que outras resoluções melhores foram propostas no colegiado, mas rejeitadas.
O Ministério das Relações Exteriores (MRE) divulgou, ontem, a íntegra do discurso de Moretti depois da votação. Nele, o Brasil reafirmou a defesa da solução de dois Estados para a região, e frisou que as violações dos direitos humanos internacionais devem ser encerradas imediatamente. A explicação de voto também criticou a morosidade do Conselho de Segurança em aprovar uma resolução sobre a guerra.
"Infelizmente, a resolução que acabamos de adotar fica aquém dessas medidas audaciosas, mas necessárias. Esperamos que, se verdadeiramente e urgentemente implementada, a decisão pelo menos mitigue a abominável situação que temos diante de nós", criticou.

Para o embaixador, a resolução é bem-vinda, mas tardia. Moretti destacou que o Conselho deveria ter agido logo em 7 de outubro, quando o Hamas atacou o território israelense. "Antes do texto adotado hoje (quarta-feira), resoluções mais abrangentes e oportunas foram propostas, incluindo uma apresentada pelo Brasil. Vetos sucessivos, o espectro de ameaças de veto ou a falta de um processo real de negociação as impediram", lamentou.
O embaixador citou, ainda, os mais de 11 mil mortos palestinos na guerra, o deslocamento forçado de 1,5 milhão de cidadãos árabes e o número "vergonhosamente desolador" de crianças mortas. Destacou que, apesar da campanha militar israelense, não há sinais de que o Hamas pretenda libertar os reféns. E que em pouco mais de um mês de conflito, mais de 100 trabalhadores humanitários foram mortos, incluindo funcionários da própria ONU.
"Todas essas violações do direito internacional humanitário devem cessar. Agora. Para todos os civis, palestinos e israelenses igualmente", observou o embaixador.
